Nature and Historical Characteristics of the Jizera Mountains

This bachelor thesis describes natural relations and history of the Jizera Mountains. First part is focused on geological and geomorphological processes creating the landscape and also on climatic and hydrological aspects. A second part gives an account of flora, which is a little reduced due to poor mineral subsoil. The exceptions are peat-bogs. These ecological subtypes represent the most valuable and the most important biotope of the Jizera Mountains. There we could discover a lot of unique and protected species of plants and animals. A history of the Jizera Mountains mapping here the settlements from prehistory age to modern times is also described in detail. Neither I do not forget to mention a development of textile and glass industry, which are also very important for this region at the field of economics. The deportation of the Germans after 2nd World War was an essential event resulting in almost complete displacement of the Bohemian border region. People have returned to the mountains due to tourism and a phenomenon of "the summer cottage" at 60th and 70th years of 20th century. A question about protection of the most specific comes out with an increasing quantity of visitors in this area. In the last part of the bachelor thesis is focused on this topic. Analýza dopadů zavedení soustavy Natura 2000 na Břeclavsku

The thesis deals with the analysis of the impacts of the Natura 2000 network introduction in Břeclav, specifically in two selected areas. Selected locations are characterized by focusing on physical-geographic, historical, ecological and landscaping issues. Changes in the landscape before and after the introduction of the Natura 2000 network are evaluated in terms of time on the basis of the gathered information and aerial photographs of both areas. The weaknesses, strengths, threats and opportunities of selected locations are identified by SWOT analysis. Part of the thesis is based on the literary research dealing with the problems of the Natura 2000 network and its application in the Czech Republic.

Bachelor thesis was conceived in its first part as a general literature review describing history, significance and characteristic of grasslands within the system Natura 2000. Not only pastures are considered as a grassland, but also continuous vegetation with domination of grasses intended for feeding purposes and technical use, which perform production and non-production function. Grazing cattle is an essential element of protected areas. In a second part of the thesis I focuses on Natura 2000, its origin, directives and goals description. In separate chapters is mentioned the care of grasslands within the system Natura 2000 and description and destruction methods of invasive species. The third part is about selected Sites of Community Importance in Hodonín district. I chose and described five sites into Natura 2000 system around my home. These sites are described geologically, pedologically and botanically. I focused on a significant and vulnerable species in this areas. I focused on the recommended care for selected areas in the last part.
